Get the Best Rates for your Pounds to US Dollars Transfers

Monitoring the exchange rates market is a daunting task and knowing what you’re getting when you purchase foreign currency can be a bit of a mystery for the inexperienced customers amongst us. However, to find the Best Rates for your Pounds to US Dollars Transfers it’s a simple case of having a browse through the best exchange service companies. Well, that in itself is a bit of a muddy area, who is the best exchange companies?

We can divide the exchange market for ease into online and high street exchange services and I will show you who offers the best dollar exchange rates from these two areas of the market.

Starting with the high street services:

Natwest – With the best dollar exchange rate of all the banks Natwest is offering 1.580 which will give you $158.01 from £100. Collection is free from branches and a delivery fee of £5 is charged for all deliveries up to £500. Anything above this is free.

Travelex – Travelex are a well recognised name in the exchange market and are a good high street exchange brand with 1.582 for US dollars giving you $158.18 for £100. The delivery costs are very cheap at £3.99 for up to £500 and free for more money purchased. It is worth noting however, you will only get this exchange rate if you order online in advance. This is where Travelex falls down as their over the counter rates are not as competitive.

Tesco – Offering a rate of 1.587 the supermarket giant looks very impressive in the high street exchange market. With a wide variety of bureau de change outlets in stores you are likely to get $158.66 for £100. A better delivery system is in effect with Tesco as they offer a £3.99 service for purchases under £300 and £1.99 for all purchases between £301 and to £499. Anything £500 and above is free delivery.

The best deals are often found online as the negotiation rates are much more competitive and the online exchange rate services do not suffer from large running costs. Here are a few reasons why you should use an online service over the high street services:

The online companies are much more cost effective and will give you a much better rate. They charge no commission on the rates so the margins are very low in comparison to the banks and the travel exchange companies.

The online companies are always competing for better rates and this ensures the customer gets the best deal available on the market. Many companies will offer you a guarantee for the best deal too, so make the most of this service.

They provide excellent service around the clock offering advice and knowledge to all customers. You might find yourself in a deal that is unclear as to how the exchange will work. Many people end up seeking advice on foreign mortgage currencies, property purchases or large business deals and the companies are usually widely experienced and can offer you their help and resources.
